Laxman Jhoola "From bird calls to spiritual calls"

Lakshman Jhula is a suspension bridge across the river Ganges, located 5 kilometres north-east of the city of Rishikesh in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The bridge connects the two villages of Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal district, on the west bank of the river, to Jonk in Pauri Garhwal district, on the east bank.

At Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India

Dawn broke through and it was time to bid goodbye to Chopta and the Himalayan birds. The roads were free with not a soul in sight. We rode the breeze as we crossed Chopta.
We moved on with Mandakini for company till Rudraprayag. Alaknanda hitched a ride from there till Devaprayag where she joined Bhagirathi. The lovely Ganga was our next companion. We rode on smitten and admiring her beauty.
Rishikesh was closing in. We raced into the spiritual town and it was a journey break for me. Bidding goodbye to my companions I strapped on my backpack, gathered my bags.
I trudged on towards my homestay near Laxman Jhoola to ponder on the spiritual side of existence.
