Matterhorn, Cervin or Cervino is one of the most mythical mountains all over the world. Here is where modern alpinism begins and where one of the most famous alpinists of history, Walter Bonatti, achieved his highest point of his alpinist career with the solo climb of the”North Face Direct" in February 1965. I love to spend my time in this area and walk in this valley. This picture was taken last year during a hike with snowshoes. Once I spotted this foreground I stopped and started to write my PhD thesis to find inspiration. I stayed in this spot for very long time enjoying its peace and tranquility and admiring the beauty and gifts that Mother Earth give to us.
